Katie has been studying voice for the past ten years. She began her formal training, studying under Sara Goldstein (voice and Alexander Technique teacher), at The Boston Conservatory, where she received her Bachelors in Music. It was at the conservatory that she took a vocal pedagogy class with Kevin Wilson and began to understand how the vocal mechanism worked. She went onto receive her Masters in Music at Boston University, un the tutelage of Sharon Daniels. Katie has had the opportunity to work with many wonderful vocal coaches along the way to include; Michael Strauss, Yukiko Oba, Brendon Shapiro and most recently, James Myers.
Katie has been teaching for the past five years. In addition to offering voice lessons, she has been an active vocal coach for high school shows, auditions and has music directed for local communities. She hopes to continue to expand her knowledge and abilities as a professional performer and teacher.
*Students who have worked with Katie have successfully landed leading roles in musicals, attended Senior Districts, applied for colleges, where they are planning on pursuing music theatre or vocal performance degrees and become more independent singers in the choirs that they participate in.
